Phil Carr holds a BA degree in Anthropology from the University of Louisville (1988) and a Masters degree (1991) and Ph.D. (1995) in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. He has published numerous articles on lithic analysis and the investigation of lithic materials. He has conducted fieldwork in southwest and southeast Alabama and is knowledgeable of the archaeological and geological resources of these areas.
